Volunteer 

Be part of a dynamic team of volunteers committed to providing valuable support to individuals, staff and the community!

Volunteers are the heart of Continuum Care Center (CCC). We have a variety of opportunities for individuals or groups to make a difference in the lives of those who have substance use disorders and are seeking a path to recovery. Whether you want to volunteer one time or become a consistent volunteer, Look no further!

 

You will provide valuable support and can walk the path of hopefulness and recovery with individuals in a way no one else can. Using your life experiences and life skills to inspire hope and wellness in promoting recovery. This is the essence of “peer expertise” and is central to CCC's program. Volunteers are vital to the success of peer-to-peer services.

Volunteer roles include:

Volunteer requirements

  • Good understanding of the mission, principles and values of Continuum Care Center

  • Complete CCC volunteer training

  • Demonstrate the appropriate skill set required for each volunteer position

  • Must identify with a lived experience of a substance use or co-occurring disorder (if providing peer support services) 

  • Good understanding of the values of peer support

  • Complete a volunteer application form

  • Reference letter

  • Pass DHS background check

  • Privacy & Confidentiality

  • Navigating the Topic of Suicide in a Peer Group

  • Understanding Gender Identity & Sexual Orientation

  • Trauma Informed Peer Support

  • Communication

  • Conflict Resolution

  • De-escalation Skills

  • Diversity and Anti-Oppression

  • Self-Care

  • Peer Support Training **  you can volunteer to serve CCC without being involved with Peer Support **

Advocacy

Recovery from addiction can be a long road so come join with friends and family to build awareness, challenge societal stigma, and celebrate the role that recovery plays in improving treatment outcomes, lives of individuals, families, workplaces and communities. 

We envision a community where all people can achieve sobriety, health, wellness and self sufficiency though support.

 

Continuum Care Center (CCC), is committed to speaking on behalf of individuals seeking or recovering from
substance use disorders.

  • CCC advocates for changing policies to improve cultural competency and provide culturally appropriate services.

  • CCC is particularly interested in system change and to push for policies, laws, or rules that impact individuals in recovery.

  • CCC seeks to influence policy, practices, and public opinion around addiction recovery and the solutions available to assist those in recovery.

  • CCC aims to advance the system of care in recovery to evolve in culturally competent ways and to include African Americans. 

  • CCC also believes in self -advocacy. We empower individuals by providing them tools to advocate for themselves and find the resources they need to begin or strengthen their recovery journey.
